Who are we?

My name is Gary Higgins, and I am the founder of Higgins Joinery, a specialist joinery firm based in West Cork, dedicated to delivering precision-crafted, high-end joinery solutions for discerning clients.

With over 35 years of experience, we work closely with architects, interior designers, contractors, artists and homeowners to bring bespoke visions to life through skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of materials.

 With experience across residential, commercial, and heritage projects, we take pride in producing tailor-made joinery that complements and elevates your designs. From traditional joinery, staircases (including hand-turned spindles), and fitted furniture to unique architectural elements, every piece we create is built in-house, allowing us full control over quality and timelines.

Our focus has always been on quality over quantity. We are selective with the projects we take on, ensuring each one receives the time, care, and precision it deserves. This approach enables us to uphold the highest standards of finish and client satisfaction.

To support the most intricate and ambitious designs, we utilise advanced 5-axis CNC machinery in our workshop. This technology allows us to deliver complex forms and precision detail that would be difficult or impossible using traditional methods alone—while maintaining the handcrafted quality we are known for.

We also specialise in geometric staircases and continuous wreathed handrails, employing the square-cut tangent system to lay out rails with accuracy. This enables us to craft beautiful sweeping, falling lines that enhance the architectural elegance of any space.
